I have her books, but the recipe that you are using is the one she call “ponche cubano”.I’m from Guyanabo, Puerto Rico and I know people have different version or family recipes”but that’s not the real COQUITO.Some people, like to put Anise like Valldejuli, some people like to do it with brandy and other with different fruit flavors. each person has his own “toquecito”and that’s okay, Eggnog and Creme de Vie are the one that have eggs. Coco lopez is just the brand you can used any coconut milk.

Sandra

You recipe sounds delicious.. but I got mine from Carmen Avoy de Valdelluli.. she wrote one of the first books of Puerto Rican cooking in the 50ths.. before coco lopez,, and all the new ingredients that people are adding..also my family is from Las Piedras Puerto Rico and in El Campo people make their own leche de coco to do it.. always adding eggs.. again… also.. leche evaporada is added when making Ponche Crema.. but that is a different recipe.. take care.. Nydai.

Sandra Martinez says:

This is not real puertorrican coquito!

Sandra Martinez says:

The real coquito doesn’t have eggs! 3 cans Evaporate milk, 2 can Coco Lopez, 2 can condensed milk, 1 cup Don Q Crystal rum, and cinnamon to taste!

E deVal says:

¿Cuanto dura en buen estado en la nevera? Pregunto pues lleva huevos. No tomamos alcohol en casa, ¿Que puede sustituir el ron?

Sweetysalado says:

I’m loving the Botero painting you have in the back. :)

Marisol Roman says:

FINALLY SOMEONE HAS THE REAL COQUITO RECIPE!! BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE HAS EVAPORATED MILK AND COCONUT CREAM AND CONDENSED MILK WHICH IS EWWWW!! THAT MY FRIENDS TAKES AWAY FROM THE COCONUT FLAVOR SO WATCH THIS VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES THANK YOU {NYDIASMIAMIKITCHEN } I LOVE YOUR TRUE AUTHENTIC COQUITO RECIPE!!

NydiasMiamiKitchen says:

Its at the end of the video.

ctdeynes says:

can you write the ingredients

EttoreDeSoto says:

Yes, just add eggnog, it will taste the same, but if you are allergic to eggs, skip them. It won’t make that much difference taste wise.

lisa112143 says:

Is there a way of doing it without egg?

500enki says:

very well done ……

Yolanda says:
